LOTUS: Lotus flowers grow in dirty, muddy swamps, and are a symbol for using the chaos of life to awaken wisdom.
WEI: this word has two meanings.
1) “Transformative action.”
2) “For the benefit of all.”
Flower elixirs check both boxes. They’re pure and natural, with the power to shift your mood & physiology.

Hanshan and Shide (active late 8th–early 9th century) were Zen Buddhist monks who held low-level positions at Guoqingsi, a temple on China’s sacred Mount Tiantai.
Hanshan (“Cold Mountain”) was a reclusive monk-poet. Shide ("foundling"), his constant companion, carries a broom indicating his role as the temple’s janitor.
The two eccentrics are often shown laughing hysterically together, in rugged clothing & wild hair, and are easily identifiable by their scroll and broom.
Hanshan typically carries a scroll that is often depicted blank. This indicates "that written or printed sutras are nothing compared to the book of nature."
Shide's broom can be read as a tool to "sweep out of the cobwebs" of life.
Their carefree attitude symbolizes their knowledge that "the things which most men strive for are illusions, and that what really counts is not rank or riches but their own Buddha nature."
In the Buddhist tradition, Hanshan and Shide were also honored as emanations of the bodhisattvas Manjushri and Samantabhadra, representing the virtues of wisdom and compassion.
Maybe one day, we will find Hansan, and reunite the two together in our precious stairwell. ; )
These three symbols can be found on every bar of Wei of Chocolate.
Om Ah Hung are called seed syllables, and represent enlightened body, speech & mind.
In the Himalayas, people say that simply seeing these symbols is an auspicious blessing.
When you let a piece of Wei of Chocolate melt in your mouth, you could say you are planting the seeds of enlightenment.
And when you share a piece or gift a bar, you are not only sharing delicious chocolate, you are participating in a beautiful & powerful & gesture of loving-kindness.

We’ve all been in this state & know its quality. This image came to me very clearly as a moon reflected in water. During this time, there occurred a lunar eclipse which was red in color with a smudge of darkness down the center - like a thumbprint on the moon.
