Lisa Reinhardt is making her entrepreneurial way with Wei of Chocolate.
She takes an organic and vegan approach to her business, which focuses on chocolate infused with different combinations of spices, herbs and flower essences.
A former marketing executive and a devotee of meditation, Reinhardt launched the business about a year ago.
"This is all dark chocolate. It's all vegan, and all of the cocoa is fair trade. We get our cocoa from farmers who get paid a fair wage for what they grow," she said.
Wei of Chocolate offers three organic chocolate blends: "Daily Gratitude," with chai spices; "Daily Love," with chili powder; and "Sensual Love," with five aphrodisiac herbs.
Reinhardt is preparing to introduce two new products: "Inner Peace" and "Inner Clarity," which will combine dark chocolate with lavender and mint essences, respectively.
"We try to use high percentages of cocoa. The higher you go, the more antioxidants and all of the good health benefits you have," she said.
Through a partnership with Tom's Tavern in downtown Phoenix, Reinhardt offers product samples to restaurant customers during lunch hours. She also runs a booth at the Downtown Phoenix Market on Saturdays and Wednesdays and conducts sales through her Web site.
